My October shows and appearances....hope to see you on the road somewhere

This would be an AMAZING display wall!!! Things that make a photographer super happy!! These are a few of my thoughts as I am working on prepping a few of my new canvases today for a show.

I will be the featured artist for October 2019 for the Sand Painters Art Guild. My show will be on display at the Valentine Public Library for the entire month of October during their regular business hours, which are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-12:00 p.m. PS......part of this show will go up tomorrow so you can stop by this week to view. I will also have a booth at the trade show during Old West Days in Valentine, NE on October 11 & 12th. Be sure to stop and check out my new pieces that I will have for sale. Sand Painters Artist of the Month

Janette Duffield is the 2018 July Artist of the Month for the Sand Painters Art Guild. Photos are on display at Viaero, Bank of the West, Security First Bank, Sandhills State Bank and Union Bank all located in beautiful Valentine, NE.

Janette Duffield, owner and photographer of Sugar Creek Photos has been taking photos most of her life. She has only begun sharing that passion with the public since 2011. She grew up in the Verdigre, NE and Creighton, NE area. She has been a member of the Sand Painters Art Guild since 2011.

She is primarily a landscape and nature photographer. She is always trying to take pictures of hidden spots of beauty in the North Central Nebraska and South Central South Dakota areas. She believes there is beauty in everyday life, you just have to choose to see it. She tries to capture that through her photography. She was the location manager for Aviation Cocktail, a full feature film that was filmed in the Valentine area in 2011. Recently she received an Honorable Mention at the ANAC 2017 Show for “Suits & Chaps”. She was also included in Fifth Annual Exposure Award. Her print “Serenity” was included in The Exposure Award Black and White Collection. A digital display was at the Louvre in Paris, France. Her print was also published in the 2015 See Me Exposure Black and White collection book. She has had work published in Rodeo News Magazine and Nebraska Life Magazine.

Two pieces heading to ANAC 2018

The Sand Painters Art Guild that I am a member of had our ANAC selection show today.  This show is where we collectively choose works from a current member that will represent our group at the state art show ANAC in Scottsbluff this June. I had two selections chosen. They are "Snowy Paper Birch" and "First on Fresh Snow".

Freshing up for Spring...

So the last couple days have been beautiful where I live. Almost 70 degrees and if we didn't have a strong wind, it would have been about perfect. Thankfully we have melted almost all our snow from a storm a couple weeks ago which dumped close to 15-18" snow with really strong wins at the homestead. Yuck!!! I really hope we are done with snow for this spring.

I had a rare day yesterday scheduled at home and used it to get caught up on some office work. I really boogied and accomplished about 4 times what my original goal was. YEAH!!!! Girl Power!!! May is super busy for me and I am getting ready for a whole bunch of various functions. I am holding my breath and just waiting to see if Spring is really here! (I hope so!!!)

I did a little spring cleaning freshing up on my webpage. I changed a few albums around. I changed up a few photos. So take a look and check out a few of the new cover photos on the front of my webpage. I hope you enjoy it!

In the meantime, I am ready for summer with warmer nights, barn dances, river trips, storm clouds and to enjoy time with friends! I am sharing a few summer photos to get us by until it arrives and we can really truly enjoy it. Take it easy and have a great weekend.
